Notaries Plead the 5th in Foreclosure Proceedings

Attorney Thomas P. Dore conceded earlier this week that he could not vouch for his signature on documents in five mortgage proceedings, and it appears that at least 15 other cases in the Baltimore City Court may be impacted, some of which involve ratified sales.

The Daily Record is reporting that 18 current and former notaries have invoked their Fifth Amendment rights and declined to testify with regard to their certification of Dore’s signature on mortgage documents it now appears the attorney did not sign.
