A blast from the past with this poem a relative recently sent to Max regarding John Kennedy’s inauguration. In addition to a look back through the poem itself, the page includes handwritten notes. Here’s what Max had to say about the document:
My 2nd Cousin just sent me this long-lost poem prepared by my Aunt, Suzy Gardner Hayes, during the JFK Inauguration in 1961. My Grandmother had a permanent room at the Mayflower Hotel from 1933 to 1965 (Room 770). Quite frankly, I had forgotten all of the important celebrities we met during this occasion. The references to “Maxie” are to yours truly. Fay Webb Gardner was my paternal Grandmother.
